Episode1 - The day on which the door of mystery was opened I was born in Tokyo. My parents ran a restaurant, so I was left at my mother’s home where I was brought up by my aunt and uncle who had no children. Japanese countryside in 1960s was full of nature like we see in “Totoro”, a very popular animated film. In that environment, my uncle taught me how to harpoon in the ocean and how to fish in the ocean and rivers with a boat. He would put me on motorcycle’s tank and go around mountain road. We would enjoy looking up the Milky Way at night. There is how I lived each day. Thus, I grew up with the breath of nature and I experienced the unknown firsthand. My longing to the mysterious world is fostered in this chapter of my life. |
